The receptionist is responsible for providing a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. Answers all incoming phone calls, and directs calls appropriately. Provides routine information and direction to callers and building guests, including patient and patient families. On occasion, may perform clerical support duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY: Basic telephone etiquette and excellent interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently, computer skills, effective oral and written communication skills, work with frequent interruptions, and manage stressful situations. Customer services skills including direct contact with the public is required. Knowledge of multi-line phone system.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ years experience in office setting, or customer service related position with constant public contact is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work indoors. Normal patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature. Frequent exposure to electrical and mechanical equipment
