Assesses patient needs. Plans, implements, and evaluates care based on priorities and the specific patient care outcome. Participates in discharge planning and rounds. Participates in performance improvement activities. Demonstrates clinical competence in specific area of assignment. Effectively performs as a member of the team. Takes initiative in improving aspects of quality patient care. Promotes the vision and mission of Victory Healthcare. Ensures the safety of patients' families and other staff. Performs all duties as directed. Adheres to department uniform policy.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY: Ability to multi-task, critical thinking, organize, determine priority of duties, some computer skills, effective oral and written communication skills, work independently, work with frequent interruptions, and manage stressful situations. Coordinates total nursing care for assigned patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership; work cooperatively with ancillary, nursing and other patient care team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Current Texas Registered Nurse license and ACLS required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Minimum one-three years experience in hospital setting. Current CPR at time of hire; ACLS at time of hire or within ninety (90) days of hire.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifting objects in excess of fifty (50) pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds. Ability to stand on non-carpeted, composite surfaces for extended periods of time, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl, reach, use fine finger movement, speak and hear. Ability to walk long distances on a regular basis. Indoor climate controlled, well lighted and well ventilated.
